My name is Jack Michie. I am 15 years old and attend Myers Park High School. I am only a freshman, so my future looks like a lot more all-nighters, mental breakdowns and months of anxiety. I was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. When I was 7, I moved to Birmingham, Alabama because my dad got a new job. I consider my childhood to be when I lived in Alabama (2nd-5th grade). During that time, I played basketball. Also, I was a part of the Red Mountain Theatre Company. My dad is now able to commute to Birmingham biweekly, and this announcement is what brought us back to Charlotte. I went to Alexander Graham Middle School and stuck with theatre, rather than basketball. Now, I am a member of Myers Park’s International Thespian Society (ITS) troupe. I was in the fall plays and spring musical this season, and plan on auditioning for next year’s productions as well. I am very passionate about theatre and I’m considering pursuing it after high school. But, besides some vague interests, I have no plan for where I’m going. But, I know that in the future, I want to reflect upon how I spent my time and know that I wouldn’t change a thing to be wherever I end up.
